Maggie at 6, well almost 7 months!
March 2nd, 2007
Whew, where does the time go? Seriously, how did it get to be March? As you can tell from the title time has certainly flown by us and Maggie’s 6-month update is a little behind! Mostly because we’ve all just been so busy enjoying her, playing with and loving her up!
Maggie went in to see Dr. Bares on February 13 for her six-month well baby check. She weighed in at 12 pounds, 15
ounces and measures 26 inches long. For anyone keeping track, she is in the 60th percentile for her height and 5th percentile for her weight.
I’m surprised she’s only in the 5th percentile because she has some nice little legs! Everything was great! She passed the hearing test with flying colors and Dr. Bares was happy to see her disposition and strength. Read the rest of this entry »

We haven’t added much to the blog for a while. As expected, we’ve been a little busy being parents. But we had a few breakthroughs I thought we should share.
There are many things about me that I hope that I haven’t handed down to my daughter. But we know we have strike one. Maggie has her Daddy’s tummy. I had all kinds of tummy trouble as a baby. My dad had to have stomach surgery at only a few days old. Well, Maggie is falling in a long line of tricky tummies.
Well I’m back at it here in the Live Doppler 10 Weather Center! As if you didn’t hear, (I can’t stop talking about it) my wife and I welcomed a beautiful baby daughter on August 9. Margaret “Maggie” Jean Burchett has been a wonderful addition to our family! Since then, I’ve been at home getting accustomed my new role as super-dad. Needless to say, I am quite the proud papa! I miss her every second that I’m at work, but it has been good to get back to some sort of routine and see everyone back at the station again. I brought Maggie to work with me yesterday. But as you can see, she mainly slept through the tour! I have to say a huge thank you to my cohorts in weather David and Ben. They’ve had to work some crazy hours in order for me to have this time with my family. Even Mike Steele had to do some impromptu weather anchoring. So my heartfelt gratitude goes out to those guys and the management here at KLFY for being so supportive of me during this wonderful time. We really do operate like a family here at TV-10 and times like these really drive that home.
